Krishna Jayanthi Festival 2024 (Krishna Janmashtami,gokulashtami 2024 ) is on 26th August 2024. Gokulashtami 2024 is celebrated Very Grandly in Udupi Krishnan temple,Guruvayoor Temple,Dodda mallur Navaneetha Krishnan Temple,Lord Krishna Mandir,Dwarka,Bihar and All other krishnan temples in India.

Lord Krishna was born to Devaki-Vasudevar as the 8th son.He was born in the jail and grown up in Gokulam by Mother Yashodha.He defeated his uncle Kamsan in dhuvarakai and Lord Krishna ruled the kingdom. In the Battle Lord Krishna stood with Pandavas and drive the car for Arjunan.During the battle Lord Krishna adviced arjuna and he followed it.Those advices are composed to a holy book Bagavat Geetha. Lord Krishna was called as “Kanna” “Mukundha” which means kanna – saviour,Mukundha-one who gives place to live and gives mukthi(vimochanam). It is believed that on the eve of Krishna Jayanthi Lord Krishna comes to our home.In order to welcome the lord we clean the house,decorate with mango leaves,welcome the lord by putting kolam(foot prints of Baby Krishna from the entrance till the pooja room).In Brindhavan Lord Krishna played in each and every house and it was admired by Lord Shiva written in a epic book. Lord Krishna is called as alangara priyar.so decorating the idol with flowers,tulasi and offering butter,curd,flatten rice ,murruku,seedai,laddu and by performing poojas we get the blessings from Lord.
